Minnesota Fringe Festival 2013 Preview: Stop Talking: The Game of Talking

Stop Talking: The Game of Talking, another late addition to this year's festival, is back.  Based on the British game Show "Just a Minute", local Fringe-favorite stars face off in a game of talking for 60 seconds about an improvised theme without repeating words, hesitating, or deviating far off topic. The players don't have to tell the truth but they have to stay on task.  The show is primarily an excuse for funny people to try to out-funny each other.   Each of the five shows will have a different cast of improvisers as well as different topics.  Last year, Teenager the Younger™saw it twice.

Minnesota Fringe Festival 2013 Preview: Jesus Christ Ex Machina: An original one man musical by Joshua Larson

I just completely rejiggered our opening night Fringe itinerary to see versatile singer/ storyteller Joshua Larson's Jesus Christ Ex Machina at the Red Eye Theater, a brand new addition to the Fringe schedule as of just this week.  His song cycle The Tragedy of Icarus was a favorite of mine during the 2010 Fringe.  An elegy to his late brother, he shared a very personal story through original songs composed in different musical styles.
